A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and an aspirant contending for the Lagos state governorship ticket under the party, Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi , has called on Nigerians to boycott all South African products.
The call is coming on the heels of South African authorities confiscation of $5.7 million arms deal money barely 3 weeks after it seized $9.3 million transported from Nigeria for arms in a purported black market.
Gbadamosi said on his Facebook page, Wednesday morning that he cannot continue to support a country that seems to hate Nigeria’s progress.
“I’m officially boycotting all South African businesses in Nigeria, starting today, including but not limited to Shoprite, Game and others. I refuse to continue being a ‘mumu’ (stupid) for a country where we’re obviously hated at the highest levels # BoycottSouthAfrica,” he wrote on his page.
He also noted that he would not pick any calls coming from South Africa owned telecommunications giant MTN and stop subscription to digital pay TV, DStv.
“Whatever you do, please, do not call me with an MTN line. I will not pick up, for to do so is to give a South African company Nigerian revenue. My DStv subscription runs out soon, and I shall not be renewing it,” he also stated
